With a nod to the Alps, Akatsuki Chalet is European in styling and finish, implemented with the exceptional quality of Japanese tradesmen.

Located on the Hirafu Middle Village bluff, the site was selected with the stunning views in mind. Facing east, the chalet catches the sun rising over Mt. Yotei, and indeed “Akatsuki” means “dawn” in Japanese.

Akatsuki has 5 fully ensuite bedrooms, including a bunk room with sofa area where the kids can truly be kids.

The living room is on the top floor under a vaulted ceiling which frames the Mt. Yotei views, and oversized balcony provides maximum enjoyment for BBQ in the summer months.

The modern, professional kitchen opens onto the luxurious living and dining area featuring lofted ceilings and a charming 3-sided fireplace – the perfect spot to curl up at night with a glass of wine or a good book.

If all the action of the village isn’t enough to keep you entertained, there’s a flat-screen TV with digital video-on-demand, DVD player, a CD player, iPod dock and high-speed wireless internet.

On the basement floor, a generous spa bath large enough for a family is the place to unwind sore muscles at the end of a long day on the mountain.

This master bedroom features 1 king double bed, closet space, a reclining chair and coffee table, and a study desk, enjoying views across the lower village towards Mt Yotei, the room opens up onto a balcony shared with the second bedroom. Ensuite bathroom with bathtub and separate shower.
Bedroom 2 – 22 sqm
Next door to the first, thia room sleep 2 guests in 1 king double bed, with glass doors that open on to the balcony. Ensuite bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower.
Bedroom 3 and 4 – 18 sqm

Bedroom 5 – Kids’ bunk room – 18 sqm
The kids’ room is located on the basement with 2 sets of bunk sleeping up to 4. The lounge/play area comes with a flat screen TV. Ensuite bathroom has a shower and the special onsen bath is just next door. This room enjoy views of Mt Yotei.
The house is in a convenient position in Hirafu’s middle village, within walking distance restaurants and bars (with just Momiji-zaka right uphill from the property).
The Ace Family lifts are 10 minutes’ walk away.
Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan

A world-class ski destination, Niseko receives 14m of snow per season on average. Offering 38 lifts, 4 developed, inter-linked resorts, 47km of groomed slopes, 1000m of vertical, and the longest run stretching 5600m, Niseko is the largest of Hokkaido’s ski areas, and overall the most well-rounded winter resort on the island.
There is a good mix of groomed runs for all levels, from first-timers through expert powder hounds. There is also a terrain park with half-pipes, table tops, round quarters and rails etc… a variety of terrain to suit boarders of different abilities.
That being said, novices going down the slope for the first time may want to avoid the crowds in peak powder season and consider some of the quieter times (spring).

DRIVING IN JAPAN
It is not possible to drive in Japan with just your driving licence issued in your home country. Japan only recognises International Driving Permits based on the 1949 Geneva Convention. Before arriving in Japan you must obtain your International Driving Permit from the national Automobile Association in the country which issued your licence. If you are unsure if you hold the correct license, please contact your authority for further information.

Airport transfer
The drive is between 2–3 hours from New Chitose Airport to Niseko.
Your driver will meet you at the airport arrival gate and then drive you the 2.5 – 3 hours to Hirafu and drop you at the door of your accommodation. You will be greeted and checked in by a dedicated staff, who be on stand by to provide handy tourist information about the Hirafu ski resort and your chalet. Rates vary depending on group number and vehicle used. Get in touch for details.
– Limousine service
If you are looking for a luxury way of traveling, you can also choose a limousine service. The 6-7 seater vehicle can be likened to a private jet, with luxurious white leather reclining armchairs, full cabin attendance and complimentary refreshments. The passenger area is fully equipped with a toilet, refrigerator, television, CD and DVD.

A private chef may be booked in advance for a unique in-house dining experience, catered meals in the privacy of the chalet can be arranged, with the choice of:

Ski equipment rental

We highly recommend booking your lessons before the trip – Lessons book out months in advance for peak season, and even during the quieter periods you should pre-book so that the lesson can fit in smoothly to your holiday schedule.
