St. Anton, Austrian Alps, Austria

Balancing contemporary design with a rustic alpine aesthetic, and featuring a sauna, the 5-bedroom Chalet Bluebird stands out as the quintessential mountain home.

Exquisite use of reclaimed wood and natural stone on the walls and sumptuous wooden flooring along with modern features, such a large glass panelled wood-burning fireplace, combine to create a warm and charismatic interior.

Stylish furnishings, tasteful lighting and refined objets d’art complete this lovely home that we’re certain will become a firm favourite on our portfolio.

Situated in the picturesque neighborhood of Oberdorf, Chalet Bluebird is only a 7-minute downhill stroll to the nearest ski lift.

The lively center of St. Anton is 10 minute’s away by foot but the chalet benefits from its raised position and is the perfect sanctuary in which to retreat after a day of skiing, while keeping an eye on the pistes.

The spacious upper floor is the luxurious living space which receives warming natural light through south-facing windows that look out across dramatic mountain scenery, with especially wonderful views of the Rendl mountain.

A huge bonus of this chalet are the double living areas, each with a large flat-screen television, roomy sofas and large poufs, meaning that everybody can choose their slice of comfort. The smaller of the 2 living rooms makes the ideal children’s snug allowing adults to gather in the larger one and swap stories of the day, warmed by a roaring log fire.

There is a small study area adjoined to this lounge. Stepping out onto the wrap around balcony, drink in the dramatic views of the Rendl mountain and ski area.

The open plan kitchen looks over a chic dining area where a chunky hand-crafted wooden dining table, surrounded by stylish chairs with faux-fur throws and illuminated by ambient lighting, invites guests to linger over dinner.

A guest bathroom is located on this floor as well as the ski and boot room, next to the main entrance which is on this level.

The lower level is the sleeping floor where 5 spacious bedrooms are found.

4 out of the 5 bedrooms have balcony access and each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The first is the sumptuous master double bedroom with a bathroom that includes a rain shower. Next to it a double bunkroom, sleeping 4 people.

The beds in this room are all adult-sized and purpose built in gorgeous solid wood. The bathroom here also includes a rain shower. There are three further bedrooms which all have the capability to be made up as double or twin rooms.

A fabulous sauna, the perfect tonic for tired muslces, is located on this level too, as well as private laundry facilities.

The Alps
The “Alpine republic” as a whole is home to a unique natural scenery and provides high-quality accommodation and tourism services.
Switzerland is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It has borders with France to the west, Italy to the south, Austria and Liechtenstein to the east and Germany to the north.
Switzerland showcases three of Europe’s most distinct cultures. To the northeast is the clean and correct, 8-to-5-working, stiffer Swiss-German-speaking Switzerland; to the southwest you find the wine drinking and laissez-faire style known from the French; in the southeast, south of the Alps, the sun warms cappuccino-sippers loitering in Italian-style piazzas; and in the centre: classic Swiss alphorns and mountain landscapes. Binding it all together is a distinct Swiss mentality.
With the three largest interconnected ski resorts in the world, including Les Portes du Soleil, France has no shortage of terrain. There are very few places you can try ski-joring, but the French Alps is one. There’s a huge choice of ski resorts located throughout the French Alps, all offering different attractions to different skiers of all abilities. From architect designed high-altitude family favourites like to charming traditional chocolate box resorts, France has something for everyone.
In Austria, the Eastern Alps are divided into the Northern Alps, the Greywacke zone, the Central Alps and the Southern Alps. The latter lie in South Carinthia, but mainly in Northeast Italy. Almost the whole of Austria is part of the Alpine region or at least the Alpine foothills.

TRAVEL CONCIERGE
Planning your luxury holiday, we are with you every step along the way.
If the villa of your choice is already booked, our team is happy to suggest equivalent alternatives and take care of the details. You can expect your vacation to be personalized to suit your tastes.
WINTER ALPINE RETREAT
For you thrill seekers out there looking to go beyond the normal ski trip, we can arrange heli-skiing, ski touring, ice climbing or day trips to Chamonix to ski the Vallée Blanche, or why not do a trip to Italy to ski over for lunch? Guides can be booked on arrival for these adventure trips and will be weather dependant.
If skiing isn’t your thing or you’d just like to try something different, you can go cross country on snow shoes, or see the Alps from the air with a tandem paraglide.
If you can walk, you can go snowshoeing.
It’s easy to do, it doesn’t require a lot of special techniques, and the fun begins as soon as you put the snowshoes on! You can choose between a casual hike through the woods or a steep climb up the mountain. A great option is to walk up to lunch where the skiers have skied to, and you can walk to on snow shoes, getting you some fresh mountain air, and catching up on the morning news. It also allows you to go places where skiers can’t!
SUMMER ALPINE RETREAT
The perfect alpine summer escape.
Swim in the indoor pool, be pampered in the spa, or just relax after a day on the mountain whilst enjoying a wide selection of tailored menus and fine wines.
Why not take to the sky and see the spectacular sites from the air? Take a tandem flight where you can sit back and enjoy the experience, or take a course and go solo. Where better to relax, and heal than the fresh mountain air?
There are several mountain top locations for yoga practice and classes can be held outdoors or in your chalet. A great combination is a gentle hike with a session of yoga up on the mountain.
DINING – A TYPICAL DAY
Dining can be as formal or informal as you wish, from full four-course gourmet meals to healthy meals with the children.
Breakfast is generally served from about 7.30 in the morning and in winter the lifts open at 8.45am, which should give you enough time to get kitted out for your day on the mountain.
You can have it a little earlier if you like, and if you’ve got a very early start (for example if you’re leaving us), the team’ll organize a breakfast pack to take with you. Each day in winter your concierge will book a table for lunch somewhere on the slopes, with each guest responsible for paying for his or her own meal.
If you make it back to The Lodge for lunch, or if you choose to stay behind during the day, a light lunch will be served. In summer lunches will vary depending on the day’s activities.
Some excursions your concierge organize include lunch, but if you choose to go exploring on your own you may want to take care of lunch yourself.
In the winter season once the lifts stopping running it’s time to head back for a relaxing spa treatment, a session in the hot tub and steam room, and definitely a slice (or two) of homemade cakes with some mulled wine – well deserved after an active day on the mountain. Evenings typically start with some delicious canapés and an apéritif of your choice before moving on to the main dinner.
Each morning your chefs will share a menu for that evening and invite guests to let us know if there’s anything on there that doesn’t take their fancy.
