Chalet Kasetsu is a 3-story chalet in main Hirafu village with 6 spacious bedrooms, designed with a tasteful fusion of Eastern and Western architecture.

Enjoying breathtaking views of Mt Yotei, this well-rounded residence can accommodate up to 17 people in luxurious comfort, perfect for large groups of friends and families coming to Hokkaido for a remarkable ski trip.

Kasetsu is a perfect fusion of Eastern and Western architecture, beginning with the dual access lower level comprised of a garage, dry room leading to the genkan (entry room) and a wide-open entranceway that provides access to the upper levels.

The top level of the property features a stunning open plan design kitchen/dining/ living area.

The kitchen is fully fitted out with a 5-burner gas cooktop, top of the line appliances and a massive island countertop.

The dining area features a glass-top 10-person dining table and is framed by floor to ceiling glazing with views to Mt Yotei and access to the full-width balcony.

The lounge area features oversize sofas a gas fireplace and again floor to ceiling glazing taking in the Mt Yotei view.

This whole floor is topped by an intricate strip timber style ceiling and the lighting is fully customizable by the property’s guests.

There is also a separate media room on the ground floor, outfitted with a huge 52” flat-panel TV, blue-ray, iPod docking and radio too offer comprehensive home entertainment.

All 6 bedrooms are generously laid out and beautifully appointed for maximum flexibility in accommodation for big groups.

The master suite is features a king bed, soji style window covers an ensuite bathroom with Japanese style stone bath. In addition to these features, the master suite also has a chaise lounge and workspace.

Kasetsu is one of the most popular luxury accommodation choices, due to all the above reasons, and the fact it also has one of the more exclusive locations in the middle village area of Hirafu.

Bedroom 1 – Tatami – 18 sqm
A traditional Japanese style room with tatami straw matting on the floor, this room has a wardrobe with sliding door to store luggage and futon bedding. Up to 3 guests can sleep in this room, with windows that look out over the village.
Bedroom 2 – 17 sqm
The second bedroom features corner windows looking out the village, sleeping 2 guests in either 1 King Double or 2 Singles. A shared bathroom with bathtub, shower and separate toilet is next door.
Bedroom 3 – 20 sqm
The third bedroom sleeps 2 guests in either 1 King Double or 2 Single beds. The ensuite bathroom has a shower.
Bedroom 4 – Kids’ room – 18 sqm
The fourth bedroom is perfect for kids, with two bunk beds sleeping up to 4, arranged to make the most of natural light and space in the room to play. The shared bathroom with bathtub and separate toilet is just next door.
Bedroom 5 – 18 sqm
The fifth bedroom features 1 King Double or 2 Single beds, enjoying ample views out over the village and an ensuite bathroom with shower, with the kids’ bedroom next door.
Bedroom 6 – Master – 25 sqm
The sixth bedroom is a master suite on the top level that looks out over the village, forests, and mountains. 2 guests sleep in either 1 King Double or 2 Single beds. A desk, private balcony, walk-in wardrobe and feature bathroom ensuite complete this haven. The bathroom features a feature bath with forest views.
Chalet Kasetsu is located in a quiet corner of Lower Hirafu Village.
There are a number of bars and restaurants within a short walk from your front door.
Lifts are a 10 to 15 minute walk, or an easy 5 minute bus ride, as the shuttle bus stop is just a few meters from the front door.
Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan

A world-class ski destination, Niseko receives 14m of snow per season on average. Offering 38 lifts, 4 developed, inter-linked resorts, 47km of groomed slopes, 1000m of vertical, and the longest run stretching 5600m, Niseko is the largest of Hokkaido’s ski areas, and overall the most well-rounded winter resort on the island.
There is a good mix of groomed runs for all levels, from first-timers through expert powder hounds. There is also a terrain park with half-pipes, table tops, round quarters and rails etc… a variety of terrain to suit boarders of different abilities.
That being said, novices going down the slope for the first time may want to avoid the crowds in peak powder season and consider some of the quieter times (spring).

DRIVING IN JAPAN
It is not possible to drive in Japan with just your driving licence issued in your home country. Japan only recognises International Driving Permits based on the 1949 Geneva Convention. Before arriving in Japan you must obtain your International Driving Permit from the national Automobile Association in the country which issued your licence. If you are unsure if you hold the correct license, please contact your authority for further information.

Airport transfer
The drive is between 2–3 hours from New Chitose Airport to Niseko.
Your driver will meet you at the airport arrival gate and then drive you the 2.5 – 3 hours to Hirafu and drop you at the door of your accommodation. You will be greeted and checked in by a dedicated staff, who be on stand by to provide handy tourist information about the Hirafu ski resort and your chalet. Rates vary depending on group number and vehicle used. Get in touch for details.
– Limousine service
If you are looking for a luxury way of traveling, you can also choose a limousine service. The 6-7 seater vehicle can be likened to a private jet, with luxurious white leather reclining armchairs, full cabin attendance and complimentary refreshments. The passenger area is fully equipped with a toilet, refrigerator, television, CD and DVD.

 

Dining
A private chef may be booked in advance for a unique in-house dining experience, catered meals in the privacy of the chalet can be arranged, with the choice of:

Ski equipment rental
You should definitely book your rentals in advance to ensure your ideal rental equipment is available. Peak season is extremely busy and rentals can sell out quickly.

We highly recommend booking your lessons before the trip – Lessons book out months in advance for peak season, and even during the quieter periods you should pre-book so that the lesson can fit in smoothly to your holiday schedule.
