Designed for an extended family spanning 3 generations, Kazahana has 6 bedrooms and 5 ensuites.

Located on Hirafu’s exclusive Main Village Bluff, the house boasts massive, unobstructed views across the valley.

It has a very distinctive Japanese feel to it, utilizing lots of Japanese timber, concrete, and steel, all put together in a very clean, sharp and minimal manner.

Crisp lines of timber and steel interplay with rendered wall finishing, combining the best of Japanese workmanship and materials. On the top floor, the two planes of warm timber ceilings and floor are connected by a feature fireplace of cool Kurokawa steel.

Bedroom 1 and 2 – 20 sqm each
Located on the second/ground level with windows facing towards Mt Yotei, each bedroom accommodates 2 guests, with bedding arranged as a king double bed in each room. There is a closet for storage space and ample floor space too. A wooden desk runs the length of one wall. Each bedroom has its own private shower ensuite.
Bedroom 3 and 4 – 20 sqm each
Located on the second/ground level with windows facing towards Hirafu Village, each bedroom accommodates 2 guests, with bedding arranged as a king double bed in each room. There is storage space and a long desk space flush with the wall with a small chair. These 2 bedrooms share an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower.
Bedroom 5 – 20 sqm
Located on the first/underground level with windows looking out towards Mt Yotei, 2 guests can sleep in either one king double, or two single beds. There is an ensuite shower bathroom.
Bedroom 6 – Tatami room – 22 sqm
On the first/underground level, this room is in traditional Japanese style, with tatami straw matt flooring. Up to 3 guests can sleep in this room on futon bedding. There is a flat-screen TV, closet space for storage, and windows looking out towards Mt Yotei, with a shower ensuite.

BASEMENT
Chalet Kazahana is located at the bottom of Middle Hirafu Village, in amongst a mix of chalets, small apartment blocks, pensions and several restaurants and bars within a snowball’s throw.
It’s about a 5 to 10-minute uphill walk into the centre of town.
There is a stop for the free shuttle bus just a few metres up to the road, and within a three minute walk from your front door you’ve got a choice of a half a dozen great restaurants.

A world-class ski destination, Niseko receives 14m of snow per season on average. Offering 38 lifts, 4 developed, inter-linked resorts, 47km of groomed slopes, 1000m of vertical, and the longest run stretching 5600m, Niseko is the largest of Hokkaido’s ski areas, and overall the most well-rounded winter resort on the island.
There is a good mix of groomed runs for all levels, from first-timers through expert powder hounds. There is also a terrain park with half-pipes, table tops, round quarters and rails etc… a variety of terrain to suit boarders of different abilities.
That being said, novices going down the slope for the first time may want to avoid the crowds in peak powder season and consider some of the quieter times (spring).

DRIVING IN JAPAN
It is not possible to drive in Japan with just your driving licence issued in your home country. Japan only recognises International Driving Permits based on the 1949 Geneva Convention. Before arriving in Japan you must obtain your International Driving Permit from the national Automobile Association in the country which issued your licence. If you are unsure if you hold the correct license, please contact your authority for further information.

Airport transfer
The drive is between 2–3 hours from New Chitose Airport to Niseko.
Your driver will meet you at the airport arrival gate and then drive you the 2.5 – 3 hours to Hirafu and drop you at the door of your accommodation. You will be greeted and checked in by a dedicated staff, who be on stand by to provide handy tourist information about the Hirafu ski resort and your chalet. Rates vary depending on group number and vehicle used. Get in touch for details.
– Limousine service
If you are looking for a luxury way of traveling, you can also choose a limousine service. The 6-7 seater vehicle can be likened to a private jet, with luxurious white leather reclining armchairs, full cabin attendance and complimentary refreshments. The passenger area is fully equipped with a toilet, refrigerator, television, CD and DVD.

A private chef may be booked in advance for a unique in-house dining experience, catered meals in the privacy of the chalet can be arranged, with the choice of:

Ski equipment rental
