Zai-On 在恩 – A Luxurious Retreat for Family & Friends
Zai-On, meaning “in the presence of grace,” is a stunning chalet in Hirafu’s Middle Village, designed for large families or groups of friends to relax, reconnect, and create special memories. With over 500 sqm of space, it offers the perfect mix of comfort, luxury, and privacy.
On the top floor, the spacious living, dining, and kitchen area features soaring 4.7m ceilings and beautiful views of Mt. Yotei and Hirafu Village. Step out onto the large balcony to enjoy fresh mountain air, a Weber BBQ, and a cozy fire pit. The double living room includes a quiet space with a gas fireplace and a fun entertainment zone with an 85″ TV. The stylish kitchen comes with full-size Western appliances—perfect for cooking, sharing meals, or enjoying a glass of wine at the island counter. A built-in Sonos sound system sets the vibe throughout the home.
For more entertainment, there’s a private media room with a projector, Sonos speakers, and a bar with a mini-kitchen. After a day on the slopes, relax in the spa bath with jets and a waterproof TV, open the full-height doors for fresh air, or recharge in the sauna.
Zai-On has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, including three master suites with ensuites, a bunk room that sleeps six (with single beds above doubles), and a cozy tatami room for a traditional touch. The chalet sleeps up to 18 guests, including space for staff. Underfloor heating keeps every room warm and cozy.
Built with a steel frame for space and strength, Zai-On features warm wood tones, locally crafted furniture, and a beautiful camphor wood dining table—perfect for long meals and good conversation. The interior blends Japanese and Scandinavian design for a stylish yet comfortable feel.
Located just steps from Hirafu’s restaurants, bars, and shops, Zai-On also has a garage, partial carport, and a heated driveway for easy access in winter.
