Kitanomine, Furano, Hokkaido, Japan

Shiyuki Chalet: Named for the enchanting “purple snow” that symbolizes Furano’s renowned lavender fields and pristine winter snowfall, this two-storey retreat captures the essence of the region’s beauty. The name “Shiyuki” perfectly embodies these dual characteristics, with purple also signifying elegance and royalty in Chinese culture.

This chalet offers four spacious bedrooms that merge traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comfort. Nestled in the heart of Furano, Shiyuki Chalet provides easy access to ski slopes and winter sports facilities, promising exhilarating adventures amidst stunning scenery. During summer, the area transforms into a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with nearby hiking trails, horse riding venues, flower gardens, a cheese factory, and local farms offering fresh produce.

Spanning 208 square meters, Shiyuki Chalet presents a stylish and inviting home away from home. Its modern architecture is harmoniously paired with a soothing interior palette of neutral tones, with extensive use of wood and soft furnishings creating a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Overhead timber beams lend a contemporary cottage feel, enhanced by sleek black metal frames and blue accents that complete the tranquil aesthetic.

The chalet is fully equipped to ensure your comfort. Each room features floor heating, air conditioning, and comprehensive heating, guaranteeing a restful stay. The property includes a fully equipped kitchen, wine cellar, Nespresso coffee machine, and a laundry room with both washer and dryer. Furano, Hokkaido, Japan
Furano, distinguished by its picturesque rural landscapes and famous lavender fields, is located in the center of Hokkdaido and is easily accessed from Sapporo and Asahikawa airports.
Besides expansive flower fields, the photogenic town has reputation for producing the highest quality vegetables, fruits and dairy products which are widely used in the cuisine of local restaurants. In addition, the town has its own vineyards and wines.
Furano receives 9 meters of light dry powder snow per season on average, and is well known for its blue sky days and calm conditions which are phenomena of its central location.
It is serviced by 11 lifts and the two connecting peaks provide 30 km of ski slopes and 839 m of vertical.
Both ski zones are well equipped with high speed lifts, with a tram at the Furano zone and a gondola at the Kitanomine zone that gets you straight to the top of the mountain peaks.
Furano’s meticulously groomed runs appeal toskiers of all levels, and night skiing is available on both side of the mountain.
The dining scene is a melting pot of options and cuisines. Trendy establishments at the New Furano Prince Hotel are great for a swanky night out.
Wander the streets of Kitanomine to sample a variety of Japanese delights, including such local signatures as “omurice” (rice topped with an omelette surrounded by a moat of Japanese curry) and ramen cooked in local cheese, or discover hip little cafes and speakeasy-style izakayas tucked away in the alleys.

We make arrangements for these pre-arrival logistics for you:

Airport transfer
The drive is between 2 hours from New Chitose Airport or 1 hour from Asahikawa Airport to Furano.
Your driver will meet you at the airport arrival gate and then drive you to Furano and drop you at the door of your accommodation. You will be greeted and checked in by a dedicated staff, who be on stand by to provide handy tourist information about the Furano resort. Rates vary depending on group number and vehicle used. Get in touch for details.

Ski equipment rental
You should definitely book your rentals in advance to ensure your ideal rental equipment is available. Peak season is extremely busy and rentals can sell out quickly.

Ski Lessons
We highly recommend booking your lessons before the trip – Lessons book out months in advance for peak season, and even during the quieter periods you should pre-book so that the lesson can fit in smoothly to your holiday schedule.
